The four weekly words that will be chosen for students are taken from the word wall list that is posted in the classroom. I will be including them all here in this section of the blog for your reference (and if there are any keeners that want to start practicing!). Words that are chosen BY the students themselves will be added to their individual spelling dictionaries that they can reference as needed.
Every couple of weeks, students may also be presented with word sorts and activities based on their individual spelling abilities. These activities would be in addition to our weekly word lists and would be chosen to help support individual needs.
I will also regularly introduce a word family (i.e.: king, thing, wing) to help reinforce spelling patterns. Check back soon for information about inventive spelling and how it will be used by your child over the course of the year.
